Description on postcard: Amelia Behrens-Furnus was a pioneer in hard hat diving during the 1920s. Her father ran a dive operation servicing the oil industry in Simi Valley, California. She is best known for a 162 foot dive into a 24 inch pipe to retrieve lost tools that would have blocked the drilling operation. She made five dives into the pipe. On her final three-hour trip, she got stuck but was able to free herself and retrieve the lost tools. She stood 5'1" and weighed 118 pounds, while her suit weighed 416 pounds!
